How did EMA begin?
EMA is a non-profit organization that was started in 1986 by Kathy Stephens, owner of Over the Top Lifestyles and author of 52 Fascinating Females Her goal was to bring self-employed mothers together to encourage and guide each other. There are currently three chapters in the state of Arizona.
How do I become a member?
Annual membership is $60. To obtain an application form, click here, or pick one up at the registration table at our monthly meetings. Your membership dues include a FREE listing on our EMA website.
Where and when are the meetings?
Our meetings take place the
first Thursday of the month from 11:30am - 1:00pm

How do I RSVP for the meetings?
RSVPs are due by noon, the TUESDAY prior to the meeting. *Please Note: Reservations and cancellations not called in or e-mailed by the RSVP date will be billed $25.00. RSVP HERE
What should I bring? What should I prepare to say about myself?
You are welcome to bring products for sale or information about your business. Bring plenty of business cards to share with others. Each member and guest will present their ‘30-second Commercial’. Share with the group: your name, your business, a good lead for you, and tell us about your children.
Can I invite guests to the meetings?
Guests are welcome to come to two meetings before they decide if they would like to join. We have some incentives for members!
BRING A QUALIFIED GUEST: You'll be entered in a raffle to win a FREE ad in the EMA monthly newsletter.
REFER ONE NEW QUALIFIED MEMBER: You'll earn FREE admission (dinner) at a monthly EMA member meeting.
REFER TWO NEW MEMBERS: If two referrals join, you receive 50% off your annual dues - a value of $30
What are the Raffle Tickets at the meetings?
Members are encouraged to donate DOOR PRIZES. To thank you for your donation, your name and business will be included in the Newsletter. Raffle tickets are $1/ticket or 6/$5.00. **Money raised from raffle tickets is donated to a local charity.
Is there an EMA Newsletter?
We send out an e-Newsletter, “The Busimom’s Journal” monthly. The Newsletter is published approximately one week prior to the meeting. Deadline to submit items is the 15th of the month.
What are NEEDS, LEADS, AND ANNOUNCEMENTS?
On each table at the monthly meetings you will find NEEDS, LEADS, and ANNOUNCEMENTS forms. You can also download one here. If you have something to share, a thank you to another member, etc., simply fill out a form. The forms will be read at the end of the meeting and make sure you include your request or announcement on the EMA Message Board. We have an active, up to date calendar that you can post events and announcements..
Are there other ways I can make announcements, share information about my business, and communicate with other members?
Yes! Visit our message board for improving and increasing communication among our chapter members. This Free message board provides members an opportunity to post messages to the whole group. ALSO!! Sign up to be a table sponsor one month. By sponsoring the tables, you decorate them for our monthly dinner, and you can also make sure your marketing material is at each and every place setting, this way, your message can reach each and every EMA member!
